South Coast Water District (SCWD) is currently completing the installation of 8-inch, 12-inch and 14-inch recycled water mains in the intersection of Golden Lantern and Stonehill Drive.
To complete this work, SCWD’s recycled water system (“purple pipe water”) will need to be taken out of service. Recycled water that is used on green space, parks, medians, and more allow us to keep things green without using our limited drinking water supplies. For this reason, and because the summer weather is about to warm up, it is important to minimize the shutdown time. With school out, the City of Dana Point will allow the contractor to work extended hours beginning Wednesday, June 12, until Friday, June 28, 2019. Crews will be able to work from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Traffic will be affected for north and south-bound Golden Lantern and east and west-bound Stonehill. Traffic control will be in place, which may limit traffic at times to one lane. However, the intersection will remain open throughout this period.
