South Coast Water District is celebrating Smart Irrigation Month by helping customers save water, save money and see better results.
Smart Irrigation Month is a public awareness campaign to promote efficient water use. Focused on July, traditionally the month of peak demand for outdoor water use, the campaign highlights simple practices and innovative technologies to:

In addition, the District website includes an interactive web portal that guides users through the process of creating a California-friendly garden and hosts virtual tours of water-friendly gardens, plant recommendations, and watering guides.
One of the District’s most successful programs, the Water Saver of the Month Award, recognizes District customers who have made a tangible contribution to conserving potable water. Winners receive $500. Since the program’s inception in January 2015, the District has given out 24 awards. As a result, nearly 1.5 million gallons of water is being saved each year.
